This book introduces sequence labeling which is one of the categories of natural language processing. When you read an email on your smartphone, isn't the date automatically detected and added to the calendar? This process is realized by sequence labeling, which detects the words of date in text. Computer software engineers can learn the theory of sequence labeling and the way to implement it into a computer through this book. By focusing on the topic of sequence labeling, we explain it more adequately than any textbook. There are many books that explain the deep neural networks that overwhelmed the masters of Go, but our book focuses on the basic techniques. The actual problem is not as complicated as Go, and simple theories are often suitable. Through this book, computer software engineers can learn not only theory but also how to implement it.
