I am looking for someone to design the look/feel for the "workbook" type journal that will be mailed to PrepWell students when they enroll in the program (see above for what the business is all about). The journal will be about 56 pages (one page for each of 52 weeks and then a few pages for intro and table of contents). I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR A TEMPLATE DESIGN FOR THESE INSIDE PAGES IN A 1-1 PROJECT AFTER THIS CONTEST IS OVER.
This project is comprised of laying out the front cover design and associated "layout/design" for the "weekly journal" entries. Once we decide on what the front cover and the weekly assignment pages will look like, I will then hire you, or someone else to actually input the weekly content.
I have included a draft of the full content of the Freshman Journal, but I don't expect you to input all of this content as part of this project. I am including it here so that you get a feel for what the final product will look like. Use these Weekly pages to get a feel for some of the elements that will eventually be needed. For instance, I would like a "call out" box included on every 3rd page that I can put a quote into. There will be a lot of bullet points and lines for signatures and written text, etc. I'd like to see how each of these elements might look in this sample.
For instance, when the text says "[check box]" that's where I would like to see a large box where a student would "check off" that they completed that week's task.
I want the "look/feel" of the journal to be similar to the look/feel of the video format that they students will see when they're inside the video portal (see sample attached) - very simple and uncluttered and using the same color and font type.
The front cover should have our logo (anvil, see attached) and the elements shown in the attached (sample front cover design). If I'm missing something (e.g. copyright on the bottom) or something else, please add as you see fit. I want the front cover to look bold, cool, and something that inspires teens (9th graders to 12th graders). I don't want it to look like I created it in MS Word and just printed it out.
Please use mostly the same colors of my website (Blue: #12457C, Grey: #CCCCCC and black) to keep consistent. I want this to look and feel like the inside of the video portal.
Also, this is only one of 4 different journals, so it needs to be designed such that some of the basic informational elements (year, dates, Basic, etc.) will need to be swapped in and out. There will also be a journal for sophomores, juniors, and seniors as well. The format of the front cover will be the same for all years' journals (we'll just change the years).
On the inside of the journal, I'd like a professional-looking format that is clean but bold. It would be nice to incorporate the logo design (and colors) on the inside "weekly" pages as well. It can be very subtle, but I'd like to keep the branding up.
I created a very simple "look and feel" mock-up in the attached sample that incorporated some of the informational elements that we need (month, year, "Basic Plan", Week XX, etc.). Feel free to move those elements where you see fit. Did I leave anything out? Are there any designs that would look cool? I just put them in anywhere. I assume we want to have a copyright at the bottom of each page as well. Please include that.
Once again, once the "template design" for the front cover and inside pages of this journal is complete, I will then have to have the actual content formatted and input into the document.
I think I have attached ample artwork to help you get a feel for what I want. This may turn into a pretty large project by the time all of the content is entered for all 4 journals.
But, for right now, I am just looking for someone who can capture the look/feel of the front cover design and what a few of the sample inside pages might look like.
Please contact me with additional questions or if you need clarification.
