A logo that inspires hope and opportunity for all employees

We are a multi-unit retail company with locations across the U.S. We are trying to come up with a logo and a look that connotes hope for our employees. Many of our employees have difficult lives and live paycheck to paycheck. They have many reasons to feel hopeless. We are a company that can help lift them up in life and provide hope for a brighter future. We can be a support network for them and help them build a career in our organization.

-Our company is called SOUTHPAW (all caps). We would like to use a "mark" (or a symbol) to replace one of the letters in our name. This mark should imply hope. An example of hope could be a sunrise. In the case of a sunrise, the image could replace the "o" in Southpaw. This is just one example, and there are likely plenty of options out there. ***Edit: We just added a logo for inspiration that we also like.. It is the two XX's. Maybe there is a way to make them into the W--in some variation, obviously don't replicate this. -We want to make sure that the mark in "SOUTHPAW" can stand alone (without the word Southpaw) in case we want to use the image on its own in some of our materials. -Color Options: We should lean towards black, blue, green, yellow, No need to use them all. Keep in mind that simplicity is better. -While there are an infinite number of fonts, we would like something clean and modern. Something that can be easily used in html and is ideally Google doc friendly. Sans Serif is one of a million examples. -Symbols Not to Use: People, hands, hearts, food, star, money
