Pls come up with a name for the character or symbol you create. Just make sure it is child-friendly & relates to healthy eating.
We would like you to design a graphical element (character or symbol) that will appeal to 7-12 year old aspiring chefs. The graphic needs to have immediate recognition, be fun and appealing to children, but at the same time it must be sophisticated and not too ‘cutesy’. It will be used as part of our brand to promote healthy eating including the understanding and appreciation of fresh, local and seasonal produce. It will be used across different media for example, it could be used in a cook book drawing the young readers attention to hints, tips and safety advice. Whether we produce a book or website, this graphical element will be the ‘face’ of it.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The audience is 7-12 year olds – whilst we are targeting kids who are interested in cooking, we would also like to appeal to a wider audience of children plus Mums and Dads.
We would like you to come up with a graphic element (character/symbol) and if you like, a name. It would become the face or brand of our products promoting healthy eating and fresh food to kids aged 7-12yrs.
This character or symbol could be a junior chef, animal (did you see the movie Ratatouille?), cooking utensil, or whatever your imagination can conjure up! We really like the idea of a chef’s hat that could ‘come alive’ and appeal to 7-12 year olds. Perhaps you can make the chef’s hat into an actual character? Or maybe the chef’s hat could just be a feature of the character you create? The character or symbol can be multiple colours or just one colour – we don’t mind.
Please keep the following ideas/themes in mind when creating your design:
• chefs / cooking
• sophisticated – not corny or ‘cutesy’
