This is a new daily deal site. To get what our tactical site will be similar to, check out groupon.com or socialliving.com - they're the biggest so far. We want our brand to have a more lively & completely different feeling with a warm/fuzzy cartoonish look. We are playing with the idea of the doodlebug character being the "Duchess of Doodlebugdeal Land". Her eyes and expression are all important. One idea is to have the "D" or "d" as part of her body (just an idea don't know if it'll work). We're looking for vibrant deep colors that appeal to women. Perhaps holding a shopping bag or deal tag or similar. How it looks at the top of the deal site is what is most important. I imagine this logo/icon in the upper left with rich color background...
Our software company purchased their logo on 99 Designs and we like it. Check it out at Dealicio.com.
I envision doodlebug as a cute thing. My Aunt called me her little doodlebug while I grew up and there is a children's book written by a Father for his little girl called, "My Dad Calls Me Doodlebug". The actual 'bug' of a doodlebug isn't very cute and that's why you have great creative freedom to make up this doodlebug bug. Hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
