School is out - creation of an avatar for a boy&girl.

We are in search of a new mascot/avatar for a coaching institute. The coaching institute helps pupils to make their exams in school successfuly.
The avatar should represent a funny boy and a funny girl (2 separate designs) aged between 8 and 13.

Paukkammer.de

Paukkammer.de is a private institute which helps pupils with problems in school to succeed their difficulties.

Therefore we need a representative girl and a representative boy (not a picture!) aged between 8 and 13.

We want to show two situations:
- The boy`s situation shows: Yes, I did it!
- The girl`s situation shows: receiving here positive certification. (Certification means "Zeugnis" in German. It would be great, if you could write that on it) 

Use:
- The representatives will be used on the website mainly, but also in print media.
- It should be possible though to display the avatar in two colors (f.i. black/white).
- Please do include as well the multi-color as a two-colored version in your design concepts. 

Target Audience

We have two large target audiences:
- One are the parents of the pupils - They are interested in sending there children to a reliable institute.
- The other one are the pupils themselves, which have to be motivated, after their bad results in school, to do something about it. 

Spirit

The avatares should communicate
- hope,
- fun and
- reliability! 

Required File Format
- Any vector-based file format readable in GIMPPrize
- $400 guaranteed!

- boy should look similair to the girl
- show something funny, wearing a cap, eating a lollypop, having a tooth gap etc..
- winner should create additional 2 situations for the boy and 2 additional situations for the girl after the contest (paid separately)!
