The logo should probably include the company name (or at least show how logo and company name placed together would look like).
The first part of the company name 'Aquilius' has no special meaning to me - so I am open for any associations. Wikipedia has to say to following regarding the Roman name (as for example in Gaius Aquilius Gallus):
"The nomen Aquilius or Aquillius is probably derived from aquila, an eagle. On coins and inscriptions the name is almost always written Aquillius, but in manuscripts generally with a single l."
Not necessarily looking for something related to the Roman empire or an Eagle but maybe this serves as an inspiration to you.
I added 'Research' to reflect a technical focus of the company. The company has not yet been founded, so if you think the Aquilius by itself (or with a different word) would make a better basis for a company name and logo, feel free to explore it in your design.
Also the company will be based in Germany so the letters 'GmbH' (similiar to Ltd. in the US) are part of the company name. So the full registered name would be 'Aquilius Research GmbH'. Most likely though the logo would probably look better w/o the 'GmbH' (so feel free to omit it in your design but if it helps you can also include it).
Of course the logo should look great for web, print (business cards/stationary) and even T-shirts (i.e. be easily recognizable).
Other that what I mentioned earlier regarding the company's image I don't have any special requirements, just be creative ;-)
PS: Assuming everything works out with this project, there will be a follow up project for a business card design, stationary and maybe also for a web layout.
