Art in the Air
New, high profile public digital art project in Philadelphia (USA) called Art in the Air needs a logo for branding and promotion.
Art in the Air is a program sponsored by PECO (http://www.PECO.com), Pennsylvania’s largest utility (providing gas and electric service to over 2 million people) and Breadboard (http://www.breadboardphilly.org), a non-profit arts and technology program.
Art in the Air utilizes PECO’s Crown Lights light-emitting diode message display atop its Center City Philadelphia headquarters. The display consists of 118 columns, each 2 feet wide by 40 feet high, and contains more than 2 million LEDs. The Crown Lights display is 76 feet wide on the east and west sides of the building and 172 feet wide on the north and south sides.
Art in the Air initiative uses Crown Lights in new and innovative way and expands on PECO’s commitment to arts and culture. Through Art in the Air, PECO Crown Lights serve as a canvas for regional artists working in a digital format. Artist’s are asked to submit digital work for review. Up to three artists may be selected each month for scheduled Art in the Air display, a highly visible feature of the Philadelphia skyline.

Logo will be used for promotional and branding purposes via electronic media (website pages, marketing emails, open calls to artists, etc). The logo may also appear on PECO’s Crown Lights display as well as potential printed media.
Logo should include full color and black/white version. 72 and 300 dpi files should be supplied for all iterations of logo design in the following formats: .ai and .psd
Logo should be simple in design, reference digital technology & culture and impress a sense of a digital public art initiative for a large, diverse metropolitan area. Digital technology, community outreach, art and creativity are keywords to consider for this design.
