Beeline Farm is part of a designated North Carolina Century Farm (see http://www.agr.state.nc.us/paffairs. This land has been farmed for over 100 years by the same family. Over the years a variety of crops have been planted, including soybeans, fescue, millet, tobacco, and orchard grass. Our grandparents also raised registered Black Angus cattle, hogs, chickens and had a couple of milk cows.
As demand changed, the farm evolved. Three parts of the original tract are still producing hay. The other fourth is what we are developing toward a new future for the farm. Beekeeping has been introduced, thus the name, Beeline Farm. There are currently seven hives on the property and one off site. A field of newly planted blueberries has also been introduced. There are hopes that our first crop of blueberries will be ready in 2010 and our first honey will be harvested this summer.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We plan to sell our farm products within our local community and at nearby farmers markets.
We would like a cool, stylish and memorable logo for BeelineFarm.com. We are leaving the design open ended at this point to see what people come up with. We definitely want the brand name in the logo and for it to be easy to read. The logo will be applied to the website, shirts, business cards, and product labels!
