Our website is an online marketplace for services. By services we are referring to any service that the typical consumer would hire someone to perform (plumbing, wedding photography, computer repair, roofing, etc.). Users of our website can create listings for work they need completed and then collect bids from service providers (ie. the plumbers, photographers, etc). The value our site provides to the consumers of services is that they can efficiently price their services. Also, the competitive bidding process places downward pressure on the prices that service providers charge. Our site also enables users to connect with friends and view the reviews that their friends have left for service providers. In most cases people who hire service providers simply ask for recommendations from friends. Thus, users can quickly search our site for the recommendations they want, instead of having to ask a bunch of friends via the telephone (which is time consuming).
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience is very broad because all adults hire service providers. However, we anticipate that most of our users will be homeowners. So, we would like our logo to broadly appeal to adults.
We are open minded regarding the design. Keep in mind that the name of our business is ProjectPricer and our slogan is "The better way to hire"
We want designers to feel free to use their creative talents. The general theme of our business is that an online auction process is a better way to hire service providers than just opening up the yellow pages or asking a couple of neighbors for recommendations. Our sites needs to convey trustworthiness and be inviting. Our users are using our site because they want the best price for their project, and often times they don't know how much their project should cost (for instance, who know how much it should cost to have a carport built in their backyard? No one does... untill they collect estimates from several contractors). But like we said, please feel free to use your judgment, as we do not consider ourselves artistic and would like to see what you believe would be an effective logo.
