Visit Oakland is the new brand identity for the Oakland Convention & Visitors Bureau, a non-profit organization that markets the City of Oakland as a travel destination. We offer a wide variety of complimentary services and materials for individual travelers and groups interested in visiting Oakland.
Oakland's vibrant culinary, arts and entertainment scene has recently been featured in national U.S. publications such as Travel + Leisure, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and New York Magazine. Consistently named one of the greenest cities in the U.S., the city is nestled between San Francisco Bay and the Oakland Hills, which features soaring redwood trees. After focusing on group travel for many years, we're now marketing to individuals as well. Our new brand name - Visit Oakland - is friendly and welcoming compared to our previous corporate name "Oakland Convention & Visitors Bureau".
IMPORTANT NOTE! We want font treatments without cutesy literal elements - a clean, contemporary design. Look at the Travel Portland logo - http://www.travelportland.com. We're looking for a new brand identity that will include a logo and a small square icon (which should be similar) that can easily be used for social media purposes. The logo should include the words Visit Oakland (or visit oakland) in a way that is contemporary and easy to read at various sizes, such as large banners and small logos on business cards.
NOTE: Please no more green and trees!!!
We don't have a corporate color palate or font, but don't be afraid to just show the logo in black, gray or brown.
