Clean, Professional Logo Needed for Physical Therapy Practice

Malama Physical Therapy

We are a new physical therapy practice opening in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. "Malama" in Hawaiian means: To help, take care of, care for, tend, attend, preserve, protect. We aim to provide quality, professional care to patients in need of rehabilitation following injury or illness.

The main target is physicians' offices, where referrals will be generated. We also would like the logo to appeal to the general public, as patients can request referrals to a specific office. The demographics: Hawaiian, Japanese, Filipino, Chinese, Samoan, Marshalese. Health-minded, nature-loving, ocean-loving people.

*Looking for a logo that is eye-catching, yet professional and not too flashy. Want to keep it clean and fairly simple.
*Want some color, but logo must also work in black and white, as paperwork is often faxed.
*Logo will initially be used for prescription pads and letterhead. Later it will be incorporated into marketing materials (pens, mugs, etc), polo shirts, brochures, and website.
*I'm open to incorporating some type of Hawaiian theme (i.e. palm fronds, ocean, waves, etc). But don't want anything cheesy or touristy.
*Also open to possibly the idea of hands in the logo, but want it to be original...there are many logos out there with hands.
*The Hawaii and hands themes are just ideas off the top of my head, I'm open to considering any other themes as well.
*As an example, I do like this logo from a previous contest:
http://99designs.com/contests/8066. Actually, I like the first 3 listed on that page. #43 also catches my eye. This is just to give an idea of what I like. I obviously don't want it to be similar at all to this logo, as they are also in Hawaii (although they're on a different island and not at all a competitor).
*From that same page: I don't like the designs with palm trees or flowers, or the ones with too many flashy colors.
*Files need to be delivered in png, jpg, and ai formats. Need color and black/white versions please.
