We market and sell industrial motors and related equipment to commercial end users on the internet. Since 1994, we've been the web leaders in value priced, high quality motors across the US, offering immediate availability all backed up with a professional team of service and support people.
Our target audience is the grainger/MRO crowd - plants, factories, hotels, waterparks. The internet represents an opportunity for these commercial end users to buy at factory direct prices without costly middlemen.
We are selling industrial products primarily to men so we don't want anything too girly. Also, we are an internet based business that does alot of direct mail, so we need something that will look cool across many mediums but convey a sense of competence and reinforce that we are the web people.
In general, the industrial products internet business is still very new and our buyers are a dinosaur crowd for the most part. We don't want to intimidate the new adopters who might be leery of ordering expensive motors on the net. We want to re-inforce that we do have humans answering our phones. This isn't one guy and a website.
Plants, factories, mining operations, oil rigs, agricultural operations, water parks, hotels. The people who maintain and run the operations of companies that use electricmotors. We have lots of niches from gravel plants that use our rock crusher duty motors to oil companies that would use our explosion proof or oil pumper motors.
The kind of buyer that grainger.com looks for or a mom and pop motor shop is our prospect. Our desired audience is the people at the motor shows and for the most part they are older men. This is not the most progressive crowd. Think Nascar.
We want our logo to convey the idea that we know what we are doing, this is a substantial organization and encourage them to call us or order online. We want a brand we can be proud of that looks cool and conveys who we are - a company that sells electric motors on the internet.
We need a logo we can size for use on the web, direct mail, corporate communications like business cards, letterhead, invoices, envelopes, use on packaging like boxes and signage and so forth.
We are willing to totally change our image as we are re-vamping our website now and planning a big marketing campaign so it is time to re-fresh our image in the marketplace.
We have a logo now on our website, http://www.electricmotors.com and it is time for something new. We need a logo that is easy to read as well, the one we have now is a little tough with the shading.
