We are a fresh new company that produces the grapes on our own property and have a world class wine maker who tends to our fruit with outstanding results.
We are keen to produce a label that is not only presentable but one that we & your good self would be proud to put on a table with guests, friends and business associates. We don't want to be old world nor do we want to be crazy / zany
We primarily produce red wine from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz group that are cared for by hand every year. The vineyard is now about fifteen years old and continues to produce excellent fruit which equates to brilliant wine. We are based in the Yarra Valley just to the noth east of Melbourne in Victoria. Our sub region is Kangaroo Ground which is developing a strong reputation for Cabernets
Obviously there are alot of other wine makers who put bottles on the shelf and we are trying to not only capture the consumers eye but retain their pleasant experince with a label that is clear and iconic
We believe that our target market is predominately male with an age group ranging from 30 to 60 years old. Cab Sav as it is commonly shorten to in Australia had traditionally been a bold, quite high tanin wine, which helps celler the wine for longer periods. A wine collectors wine not so much a wine that you would start out drinking.Females tend to favour the sweeter wines and lean towards white wine, that is not to say that females do not drink Cab Sav, there is certainly a market , its just smaller than the male market.
Due to the fact that these grapes are grown in a cooler climate they are more fruit driven and have less harsh tanins.
Like all thing there tends to be trends or popular seasonal options that tend to come and go. Both Cab Sav and Shiraz , along with blends are still very popular here in Australia and are great with a steak .
Is it important that the brand name is dominate on the label and that it has clear a concise lettering. You guys know what fonts work . . .
The label size is 85 millimetres wide and 100 millimetres in height
We believe that the label should be off white with dark text ( keep in mind that the bottle is a very dark rich green almost black )
The label is to contain 1. The brand name . .. " Cabrolin "
2. The logo or stand out feature
3. The wine style ' Cabernet Shiraz '
4. The region " Yarra Valley "
5. The year of Vintage " 2010 "
The intention is to maybe match the stelvin or cap of the bottle in a similar colour to the logo for identification reasons.
We have attached an idea that we like, we see it as something that is creative, yet representive of the fruit . The colour is to out landish for most older men but might give you something to think about . . .. We are seeking your ideas regarding a logo it doe not have to be a bunch of grapes . . Iconic is the key .. .
Generally the labels are rectangular but maybe a cut away or logo over hang may add to the visual appearance
I hope you are up to the challenge and who knows we might even get to celebrate over a glass . . . ..
