Executive Speaking Success & http://www.executivespeakingsuccess.com
Around me people succeed. The focus of ESS is to transform business executives and their communication to match who they are committed to being.
So you know who I am, I have been speaking in public since age 8, have been working on the Internet since 1987, co-founded a dotcom company which raised over $70M but ultimately failed, and I genuinely love people.
I am honored to have spoken all over the world at the invitation of business schools, student conferences, classes, business conferences, etc.
Here is a bit from my speaker bio: An Internet trailblazer since 1987, Bates is also an owner of Goldstar.com, the world’s leading direct marketer of live entertainment. John also co-founded BIGWORDS.com, a leading youth marketer and textbook seller. John has been involved at the intersection of the Internet, Virtual Reality and Gaming since 1994.
Bates is a highly sought after speaker and has garnered excellent ratings at diverse venues such as ION 08, South by Southwest, Harvard’s Cyberposium, WebAttack, Jupiter Online Developers Conferences, Vanderbilt School of Business Distinguished Speakers Series, St. Gallen School of Business World Leaders Symposium, VeerStichting Symposium, Virtual Worlds, Virtual Goods Summit and more. John brings passion, enthusiasm and long experience in virtual worlds. John graduated from the UCLA Honors Collegium Summa Cum Laude.
The target audience is high level executives such as CEO's, COO's, CMO's, etc. My basic thesis is that these guys can usually go give a speech and get a B+ without even really trying. However, when they give it some attention and work on their content and their delivery they can dramatically impact the bottom line. They get invited to speak again, at larger and more important events, they get asked onto TV Show and Radio Shows and they become the 'thought leader' in the space.
The target audience is already very successful, good at what they do, and when they see the dramatic leverage that is possible with a little bit of attention and time in this arena they are called into action.
Examples: one of my clients was invited to speak at TED.com and did a great job. Another of my clients flew down from Silicon Valley to spend the day working with me before hosting a big event. Our work made a very big difference in how he was received and how the event went.
The logo and color choices will both draw in potential clients as well as convey who I am.
A logo design and color choices which I can use to build my website and collateral material around.
A Lion or Tiger's head in the logo is something I like, but am open to anything elegant and classy; something that has an aspirational element, even for a high level executive.
I am looking for a logo that looks good on a business card, will still work in Black and White, ideally, however that could incorporate some color when possible.
I like elegant, clean fonts like Kabel ST LTD
The core brand promises to convey by color, logo & font are: Transmutation/Transformation, Magic, Insightful, & Instinct.
Here are some of my notes:
Executive Speaking Success - Go Beyond Your Potential
other things I want to communicate are:
- Excellence is Acquired
- Because What You Say Really Matters
- Because You Create With Your Word
- The Impact is Exponential
The core brand promises which I will actually write and say are: Power, Listening, Joy & Mastery.
I looked up all of these words and also looked into colors that convey them. I think that the colors that best convey this are Maroon and Gold, with purple, orange, gray and green being available, as well, but I certainly look forward to any of your thoughts about that...
Colors conveying expertise, wealth, richness, depth and success are requested.
I'll need this for both print and the web. I'm super excited!
