We are a neighborhood restaurant focused on great food, craft cocktails, and cold beer. Our name comes from our town's nickname dating back to the early 1820s. There used to be two mills (cider & sawmill) that were across the road from each other. The 'chugging' sound of the mills inspired the nickname "Pumachug and the corners". This name continued until 1920's when we were renamed "Clawson".
Today, we are launching a restaurant that will pay homage to the history of our town while bringing contemporary food trends to an otherwise bland competitive landscape. It will be important to remain humble and unpretentious in all things from design, to service, to the logo.
While a 'puma' has nothing to do with the name, we find it to be a playful tongue-in-cheek way to express our logo. Please see attached pictures for reference.
We're looking for a fun logo that people would be proud to wear on a t-shirt. Something that looks fun in neon, on glassware, and on promotional t-shirts. We want to be your casual neighborhood restaurant that inspires comfort and fun. Nothing too serious.
The base of our logo idea comes from a random drawing our general contractor did while waiting for materials to be delivered. We love the concept, we just need to refine its execution. Please find that concept drawing attached.
Concept: Saw blade background (harken back to sawmill days) with a friendly, approachable, vintage puma face poking fun at the name and lending to an overall approachable concept for both men and women.
