Quickie Salad
We do fast chopped-style customized salads. Our primary customers are young professionals during lunch hour. The business model is like that of "Just Salad" or "Chop'd" (look em up!).
Quickie Salad is another restaurant that joins the healthy fast food trend by selling chopped, customizable salads primarily to young professionals. The idea tries to capitalize on the growing health-consciousness of younger business people (mostly ages 23-50). Our customers are people who are seeking to keep a good-figure and remain healthy, but who don't have time to have a sit-down meal or salad due to their busy schedules. We pride ourselves on the high quality of our food, perfectly fresh vegetables delivered daily, our great variety of dressings, and the friendly smile of our employees.
Even though we don't want this to come across in the logo, we purposely chose the name "Quickie" with the idea of using the sexual overtones of the word for playful marketing purposes (e.g., our employees will be wearing t-shirts that say "let's have a Quikie", or "next time I should have a Quickie with a different friend"). It does, however, illustrate the playfulness of our brand. We don't want this to be a serious brand.
We want the logo to be brightly colored but clean. We want it simple. We expect it to draw the attention of people walking by our store in one of the largest metropolises in the world. We would like a "letter form" logo, so that we can use the letter "Q" on its own in several products. We expect, for example, to sell hard plastic bowls with the letter "Q" or the word "Quickie" on them (so the logo has to be simple enough to be, not printed, but molded into plastic). BUT, aside from using the Q we would also like a logotype that represents salads (basically, as explained below, the Q will be used for other Quickie brands, but we want Quickie Salad to also have its own salad-related logo). The reason why we would also like a pictorial mark, is again, because it has to be extremely obvious to a passerby that we serve salads.
The logo and name will be on everything: T-shirts, caps, bowls, cups, napkins, menus, signs, posters, pamphlets, business cards, website, etc. So please keep that in mind when designing. If specific help is needed for the placement/branding of any of the above, we would probably want to engage the same designer that wins this (as long as they know how to do this, of course).
Lastly, we would like you to know that "Quickie Salad" is part of a larger group of to-be ideas under the same name "Quickie." For this reason, whomever wins this contest, will likely also win the creation of the other logos for our different ideas because we need them all to follow the same style (with the only difference being that they will need to be customized for the particular "Quickie" product. For example, one of our ideas for the not-so-distant future is "Quickie Soups." For that we would need a pictorial mark of the same style as "Quickie Salad" (so that people know is part of the same company), but it should "scream" soups... not salads... but that will come in the future. For now, we need you all to give us your best for "Quickie Salad." We cannot wait to see what you come up with.
