We are the residents and junior doctors of the National Guard Health Affairs Hospital program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Our hospital services a wide section of the community and provides a high standard of care. It is one of the leading centers in the region and is accredited by a number of international bodies such as the JCI (http://www.jointcommissioninternational.org/).
The hospital is a leading center in Trauma care as well organ transplant and other highly specialized services.
This logo is being designed for the annual residents' day celebrations which is one of the rare occasions when we can just sit back for a day and not worry about what is going on in the hospital.
The audience will be the residents themselves. These are a group of highly motivated, extremely hard working, young individuals that dedicate a major portion of their life to their profession. The high demands of the profession in general, and our institution in particular, results in many of us working 13-14 hour work days and frequent 36 hour on-calls. Many tend to forget that balance is needed in their lives or that there are other things besides work.
The idea I have for the logo is that it should mimic a face card from a deck of cards. Just as the face cards have mirror images of a central character holding an object, we would like our logo to appear in a similar manner but with a twist; we would like one side to depict a physician where as the other half would be depicting a person in regular casual attire.
It should reflect the idea that there are things in your life other than being a doctor and to balance out work and play/other things.
this is the idea i have and i'm welcome to anyone willing to experiment a little.
I also thought that it might be possible to outline the edges with a classic representation of the cardiovascular system using dark deep colors such as navy blue and maroon. you may reference the image provided below (circuit a) however it would not need to include the top part with the lungs or the bottom part with the body.
the corners of the card that usually depict the value and suit would be replaced with "R" for resident and the logo of the hospital. i have provided a low quality image of the logo just to get an idea.
Please contact me for any questions or feedback.
oh and the logo will be used on booklets, handouts, mugs, tote bags and for a large banner.
Thank you ^_^
