Broadstreet Consulting helps small businesses and non-profits leverage the Web to fulfull their mission.
We are a small, family-run business that provides Web development, support, and strategy consulting for small businesses. Our Website is located at http://www.BroadstreetConsulting.net. We help businesses get on the Internet, and then we also help them expand their opportunities on the Web through content development, social media, and e-Commerce.
Here's the story of why I named the company Broadstreet:
When I was a kid, I grew up on the outskirts of Trenton, New Jersey, in a little town called Yardville. The neighborhood where I lived was a very safe place. As an eight or ten year old kid I was allowed to ride my bike anywhere I wanted with one exception: I was to never cross Broad Street. Broad Street was a busy highway with dangerous traffic and navigating across it required experience and judgment. Some people got hurt, some even got killed crossing Broad Street.
Many small businesses see the power and see the potential of the Web, but are not sure how to get there, not sure how to navigate this foreign terrain. Broadstreet's goal to help you find your way through the strange and sometimes intimidating place called the Internet. In effect we want to offer you a hand, share with you our experience, and help you cross over.
Most of our customers are small, individual- or family-owned businesses. They are primarily in the SouthEast USA. Most of our existing customers have revenues between $500K and $5 Million annually. We have an impressive portfolio, and most of our business has been earned through word-of-mouth. We have been able to demonstrate value through measured results including increase sales and increased profits.
We are preparing to expand our marketing through the release of an e-Book, a paper-bound book, speaking engagements, and an online campaign. We want to get our logo right before our next big push.
If you look at the attached logo, or look at our Website (http://www.BroadstreetConsulting.net) you will see our current logo. The symbol in the logo was developed from something that I had started doing when I first came up with the name Broadstreet.
/ : \
I had used these three characters to make the little highway symbol. I kind of liked doing this, and my previous designer tried to incorporate this into the logo. I'm not happy with the result. I'm willing to discard the idea of including these symbols /:\ in the logo.
I'm happy with the colors on the Website and the existing logo. I'm happy with the tag-line: Driving Business Through the Web. I'm even pretty happy with the fonts and Text layout. I'm not opposed to changing these things, but I'd rather focus attention on what I don't like...
What I'm not happy with:
I really want to replace the symbol on the left of the logo (the blue circle with the highway on it.) with something better. I like the idea of having something square (or round) that I can use without the text, as an icon or whatever.
I like the idea of incorporating a road or highway in the symbol. I'm also open to making this some form of a 'B'. I'm not crazy about "BC" and I definitely don't like "BS Consulting" :-).
