We are a web based solution that helps seniors or their proxies track their prescription medicines, as well as over the counter and herbal supplements, as well as "observations of daily living" that might influence their response to therapy. The patient is provided with a personal medication record plus a summary of risky behaviors, potential adverse drug interactions and questions for their doctor . Information can be shared with family, caregivers and doctor. The ultimate objective is to allow older adults to "age in place" - keeping them out of hospitals and nursing homes as long as possible.
The solution has been validated in clinical trials sponsored by the National Institutes of Health in the U.S. and demonstrated that it could improve the response to therapy in patients with hypertension.

The target market is older adults and their caregivers, usually a female, adult child. The solution will be used by older adult children who want to be part of their aging parents' support system, and eventually for themselves as they age.
Most patients over 65 years old have more than one chronic condition, take multiple prescription drugs and supplements and see more than one doctor. They are at increased risk for an adverse drug event- these are responsible for 5 million hospitalizations per year- a third of which are due to over the counter medications. The solution connects older adults, their caregivers and their doctors to improve visibility for what is happening with the patient on a day to day basis.
KnowMyMeds should convey a professional image of a validated clinical application - but it should not be intimidating. It should be conservative but also cheerful and inviting to older adults.
Medical symbols would be frightening to people in failing health. A logo should convey connectivity with softness. It should be abstract rather than literal.
Colors should be soft and conservative. Shades of blue are desirable. Accents of orange are cheerful . Green, red, brown are not desirable colors.
An easy to read, clear font should be used for any logotype. Both name and symbol should be able to stand on their own.
