What are the Capital Studios? Simply, they are alternative coworking office facilities for professional, creative people. Coffee shops can be too noisy, and you can't use your phone in the library. Regus and other office suites are traditionally outfitted and expensive.
The Capital Studios are being designed much like an architecture studio: an open plan in a loft-like space with exposed ceilings and brick and an urban feel. Clean lines and contemporary furnishings will outfit the space. For an inexpensive monthly rate, users get a large desk, internet, copies, faxing, locally roasted coffee, and a safe, secure and professional environment in which to create and build their own dreams.
With a concept like the Capital Studios, the instinct is to design something modern. I want to turn that on its head and instead try to capture a sense that the place has been around forever. In a way, it has, as the building we are in was built in 1890. There's something neat about incorporating the words, "Since 1890" or putting 1890 somewhere in the logo. Below are some links to some logos I find interesting. Good luck to all!
