EIS provides consulting services to companies utilizing lasers in their processes (cutting, welding, marking, etc). Customers are mainly in the heavy-industrial realm (steel mills, automotive, etc). EIS also offers general industrial maintenance consulting services.
One concept I had in my head was (utilizing the EIS acronym) having the letters bolted to a metal plate (diamond plate maybe). Another format I'd like to see would be to somehow work in the intricacies of laser applications (precise alignment, cleanliness, focal calibration). A good reference for laser applications can be found at http://www.us.trumpf.com. Many of my contacts are geeky (technical) types. They would pick up on and appreciate any subtle attribute that was worked into the logo.
