This is green fields. We want to people to know that this is a lacrosse website and we are the authority on lacrosse product information. We’d like to see logos with and without something that is synonymous with lacrosse. Logo’s that contain our name are also fine. We’d really like to see a variety.
Regarding colours, we’d like to see strong, striking colours rather than faded dull colours. However, the colour choice will be made towards the end. The design of the logo will be our primary focus. Please, no gradients and use only block colours. Keep it clean and simple; not too many colours, not too much detailing; works on light and dark backgrounds and as greyscale.
Logo by itself (without the LGR text) should work on desktop, mobile screen sizes (not too much detailing) and in print form. The logo must be either square in dimensions or slightly landscape. Portrait will not suit our needs. It should rescale down to various small square sizes; Twitter, Facebook, mobile app icons, favicon.
The Logo with the LGR/Lacross Gear Review text is for the masthead of our website. Ideally, the width of the logo with the text will not be that much wider than without.
Feedback will be provided for every submission. We’ll be reviewing the logos multiple times per day and be working to provide feedback asap. We're based in Australia so we're out of most peoples time zones. Apologies if we're asleep!
File formats required will be jpeg, layered psd, ico.
Update #1 (26/1):
The name "Lacrosse Gear Review" being so long, may be difficult to include. Some times it makes the logo too wide, and sometimes, for it to be legible, it becomes too big and takes focus off the logo.
Update #2 (26/1):
The most obvious icon for lacrosse is a lacrosse head.
Whilst common (which goes against uniqueness), I can't think of anything else which is a good substitute! Some lacrosse logo's don't look that good because of the strings.
The strings make it look messy. So I'd like to avoid that. Maybe try a logo without the stringing.
Maybe somehow merge a lacrosse head without strings and the concept of reviewing. Things like a rating out of 100, thumbs up/down, a score, good/bad, tick/cross, happy/sad, etc. Something along those lines.
