The Collaboration Project
The Collaboration Project is an independent forum of forward-thinking leaders and organizations that share a commitment to the adoption and use of collaborative engagement methods and technology to help solve complex problems of public management and government.
Members share best practices, produce research on the opportunities and challenges of collaboration, and assist government agencies in implementing collaborative tools and approaches.
The Collaboration Project is seen as the “go-to” place for government agencies and other organizations that need strategic advice and guidance on how to run successful collaboration exercises. It has been recognized on many occasions as a leader in this field through its work with many government departments and agencies such as the White House, Office of Management and Budget, Recovery Board and Department of Homeland Security.
The project doesn’t have a compelling logo, and is in need of one to better establish its brand.
A key goal of the Collaboration Project is for government to view it as an independent and objective forum to share best practices and lessons learned and to serve as a strategic partner in using collaborative technologies within government to improve an existing process or create a dialogue among previously disconnected stakeholders.
Given these stated objectives, the primary audience would be individuals within government agencies (federal, state or local) or other large, process–driven organizations who have taken the initiative to propose (or have been tasked to create) a collaborative engagement environment around a certain topic or policy objective and are actively searching for cases studies, relevant examples, and strategic advise.
A secondary target audience would be organizations, journalists, and individuals that are interested in the broader topics of “open government” and what is generally referred to as “gov2.0” -- how emerging technologies are be used by governments. This secondary audience may not directly engage with the Collaboration Project on specific projects, but they operate in the same issue community and are key evangelists for the Collaboration Project’s approach.
