Rapid Equity Ventures but we go by the name REV
: This first project is for a logo. In the very near future, once we better understand how 99designs works, we will also need a website, business cards and stationary. We will also need the same services for all of the companies that we start up. So more than just a logo we are looking for a designer we can build a long term relationship with.
We are a newly formed holding company that will be starting new companies from scratch and maybe buying some small companies that we feel have strong potential. More than investors, we are advisors that plan to spend the bulk of our time helping these young businesses grow and prosper. These companies will range from light manufacturing to call centers and will mostly be located in small midwestern US towns.
Entrepreneurs, small business owners, people with strong values that have the ability to attract others to their good ideas. Likely age range would be anywhere from 18 to 80.
Words that come to mind for our preferred logo are: CLEAN, SIMPLE, Smart, Risky, Energetic.
One of our original concepts was a simple line sloping upward from left to right signifying that we will REV up your business.
Another concept that may be very hard to integrate into a professional looking logo is that of a bus. A quote we may eventually place on back of our business cards once we get to that point is by Jim Collins and it says
“If we get the right people on the bus, the right people in the right seats, and the wrong people off the bus, then we’ll figure out how to take it someplace great.”
So the picture I included is an upward sloping bus, but not sure how you could work with this concept without making it cheesy or cartoonish or so long that it would be awkward on a page or card. Maybe something more abstract?
Last word of advice – feel free to ignore everything I just said and provide something completely unique – We really are open minded.
FYI, favorite colors are blue and or green, but not set in stone. Least favorite colors due to how poorly they project are yellow and red.
We'll need the usual print and web file formats as deliverables from this exercise: CMYK image in EPS/AI format; layered RGB file in Photoshop PSD PNG format; JPEG version as well.
