Hello, my name is Tyler. I'm currently building a Django-powered MobyGames-style (mobygames.com) wiki website that is intended to be a database of every mobile game on the planet. Mobile games meaning cell phone games. This includes all game titles for iPhone, Blackberry, Android, and even games for hardware that's no longer being sold (old Nokia's that came pre-loaded with Snake and the like).
I have a degree in Information Sciences and have a career history in computer programming. I've never been great when it comes to graphic design though, so I figured I'd turn to the experts. :)
Note: my website has no affiliation with mobygames.com. I used it merely as an example of the type of site I'm building. My site will be completely independent.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I guess 18-35 if we're talking demographics, but really, it's a niche group of people who love both video games and thoroughly documenting everything that exists. The types of information-junkies who get lost for hours clicking links on Wikipedia at the expense of more important things like eating and friendships.
(it's OK to make fun of this type of person if you are one of them).
The website is tmgdb.org, and I'd like the logo to incorporate "tmgdb" in it somewhere.
tmgdb is short for The Mobile Game Database. It's a wiki-powered website that's intended to be a database of every mobile phone video game ever made. Sort of like Wikipedia for cell phone games.
I have no preference for how the abbreviation is capitalized or not capitalized. E.g. if you think the logo looks better when typed 'tmgDB', or 'TMGdb' go ahead and make that logo.
It would also be nice if the logo gave some sort of indication that the site about cell phone games, e.g. having an iPhone next to the tmgDB logo. Be creative. I'm not picky about the finer details, so long as it looks nice.
The website currently has a color scheme of light blue / grey / black, which you can see in the attached screenshot. The logo doesn't necessarily have to be the same colors, but I'd like the colors of the logo go nicely with the colors of the site.
Guess that's everything. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.
