I am a landscape photographer that likes to shoot mainly seascapes on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia (a beautiful region containing many beaches, seaside towns and wineries). I intend to start selling my prints of this area to the public and am in the process of setting up a small business. Everything is running along smoothly, except for my logo! I have tried designing one myself but I don't really like it and the feedback I've received isn't great. Help!
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
People who live on the Mornington Peninsula permanently, have holiday homes on the Mornington Peninsula, or holiday on the Mornington Peninsula in summer time. There is a large population of baby boomers in this area so the logo would need to be appropriate for that audience.
I think the shape of the Mornington Peninsula needs to be included in the logo (see attached). This shape is instantly recognisable to people who live there, have a holiday home there or holiday there in summer. I have also attached the logo I've come up with. As you can see I used an image of a camera in the logo to make it clear that the company is a photography company and not a movie cinema on the Mornington Peninsula (I guess 'Peninsula Pictures' can be a bit misleading). I'm looking for a logo that tells the public what sort of company it is, while looking sophisticated at the same time. My photographs are of very high quality and won't be cheap, so I want a logo that reflects that. I really like the colours used in my logo, but not the logo itself. Thank you!
