Oakland Restaurant Week, sponsored by Visit Oakland (The Visitor's Bureau for Oakland, CA), is a 10 day period in which select Oakland restaurants offer fixed multi-course menus at $20, $30 or $40 for either lunch or dinner. The program allows Oakland locals and visitors to experience the Oakland culinary renaissance first-hand.
The program is held in correlation with California Restaurant Month, a high-profile publicity opportunity created by Visit California.
Oakland is a creative, edgy, exciting city with a vibrant culinary scene to match. We would like the logo to be hip, fun, and resonate with the Oakland and Bay Area diner community. Oakland cuisine is international and ranges from Michelin-star sophisticated cuisine to simple comfort food. One possible concept for the logo is the Oakland oak tree (see green "City of Oakland" logo above) but with forks or other cutlery at the end of the branches. Another idea is to create a fork out of the facade of the Oakland tribune tower http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/60/Oakand_tribune_tower_detail.jpgWe are open to other suggestions.
