North American Lymphedema Education Association (NALEA)
The North American Lymphedema Education Association is a group of Lymphedema Therapy Certification Schools that have come together to set standards for training of lymphedema therapists. The association will function as a body to release information about training standards and to communicate unified responses to developments in the lymphedema training industry. Currently the association consists of the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (http://www.acols.com), Klose Training and Consulting (http://www.klosetraining.com), Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy (http://www.nortonschool.com), and Vodder School (http://www.vodderschool.com).
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The expected audience will be prospective students (healthcare professionals considering enrollment in a lymphedema therapy certification program), existing Certified Lymphedema Therapists, other industry associations (NLN - http://www.lymphnet.org, LANA - http://www.clt-lana.org ), and other related professional associations such as the American Physical Therapy Association (http://www.apta.org) and the American Occupational Therapy Association (http://www.aota.org).
No are no specific requirements. However, the color red should be avoided as it can be associated with blood and we are in a medical-related field. Additionally, we would like the full name of the association (North American Lymphedema Education Association) as well as the acronym (NALEA) to be present in the logo if possible. Otherwise, we welcome full creativity.
