We are a family owned ranch with locations in Oklahoma and Kansas. Our new brand name is actually a tribute to our two sweet little girls, Lily (8) and Anna Rose (4). They are awesome girls. We were looking for something alluding to their names, and they are both very spirited, hence "Wildflower". At the same time, it is a horse ranch, so our logo can't be too feminine. Obviously, this logo will be very personal and meaningful to us, so we would very much appreciate your work on our project.
Our horses are American Quarter Horses and Paints. They are used primarily for western type riding but also some English riding. Our target audience is this horse community. We do not do horse racing.
Will be interested in all submissions and ideas. Only thing to keep in mind is the tension between the name "wildflower" and the need to make sure that people know we are actually a horse ranch and not a flower farm. For this reason, I was thinking that it might be good to incorporate a simple line drawing of a horse head, or something along those lines, to get this point across. Here is a sample of such a line drawing I've seen. But it could be even simpler than this:
Again, I'm not married to the horse head concept, just seemed a good way to me to get the point across. I know you all are much more creative than me, so have at it!
I do think a simpler logo would be good, as to display it on trailers, ranch signs, entry ways, etc. requires it to be easily perceived and not overly complicated. No cartoons or clip art type stuff, though.
Not sure on best file type. I know .jpeg is ok for smaller file sizes, and vector files would be good. I understand that Adobe Illustrator native EPS files would be optimal.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
P.S. Seeing the first set of entries made me think about maybe using a couple of sunflowers in the design if you are inclined to try and bring any floral aspect, because sunflowers are both a wild flower and an actual farm crop that we would grow. So that might may more sense to folks seeing the logo rather than lilies or roses. Just a thought. Interested to see other ideas too!
P.P.S. Well, we are not as hot on the sunflower concept once we started seeing it, at least not when used prominently. Certainly not ruling it out, especially things like the half starburst element shown in one of the designs and the sunburst with the horse head element inside, but not inclined to go full big sunflowers. Sorry if we caused wasted time for anyone. We're learning as we go. Thx
