Tax law studies Publishing House needs new logo

Estudios Fiscales, roughly translated as "Tax Studies", is a recently established Colombia based publishing house that aims to offer quite specialized works in the field of colombian tax law. Our house is not competing with big names in the industry but has a close market: professionals coursing postgraduate studies in law, government personnel, judges and academics. We want a logo that could fit in our website, books (cover, spine, etc...) and bussines paper. We want to change the logo because the current one  lacks of singularity, force and personality. In other words, previous 'designer' had not made it thoughtfully.

If 'tax studies' is not a clear field or my translation isn't useful, let me know and as soon as possible I write a bit more about what we do. Black & White is prefered but of course, creative and sober use of colours would be ok.
