Vancouver Endurance Club
Paul Cross is an established fitness consultant based in Vancouver with expertise in triathlon. He has 25 years of experience in elite athletics. Initially a national level swimmer; Paul changed to the sport of Triathlon and was quickly competing at the top level. He raced elite from 1990 to 1998 placing top 10 in professional events across North America. Paul got into consulting while still competing and training full time. His strong natural talent for coaching was realized in Montreal as co-founder and head coach of the McGill Triathlon Club.
Paul coaches many groups and individual athletes; however most of his time is spent in program design and management. He has a specialty in periodization, which he demonstrates through individual program design, at seminars, and at training camps annually.
Paul has a passion for sport and health, realizing the two often do not go together. His philosophy of balance is how he lives his life. Paul races seasonally in running, triathlon, skate skiing, and road biking. He is a successful elite athlete but considers himself a better coach than an athlete. His regular recreational activities include alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, hiking, and kite surfing. He embodies the active, healthy multi-sports lifestyle and has a penchant for quality in any shape or form. This is reflected in his work. http://www.crossathleticconsulting.com
An original logo designed for a triathlon club
club name: "Vancouver Endurance Club"
Vancouver Endurance Club (V.E.C.) is an evolutionary concept. We are MultiSport—with a Triathlon Focus—yet open to Cyclists, Swimmers, Runners, and cross-training Endurance Athletes of all kinds. A Club that reflects our present reality; athletes participating in a variety of activities but a group which shares a passion for improvement.
Multilateral development is an essential part of long term individual progress and physical sustainability. A balanced athlete is a healthy athlete. A healthy athlete is a better athlete. Everyone wishes to improve and our Club provides the opportunity to do so.
The mission is simple: An unwavering collective commitment to the success of each individual member. Success is achieved through the application of the best coaching methodology and by creating a prime environment for progress.
V.E.C. will combine experience, theory, and practicality for optimum results. This Club also offers a very cool high quality "KIT". (Yes... the clothing is important!) If you are an athlete who wants to commit on some level, improve and look good doing what you enjoy - then you are us, and we are you! Let's improve. Let's achieve. Let's get there, together.
I want a logo for this triathlon club. (Vancouver Endurance Club)
I would like this logo to elicit/embody the following traits/feelings:
Too many triathlon businesses use some combination of swim (waves), bike (wheels), run in their logo. (in my poinion)
I want a more simple and paired down logo.
I have decided to incorporate the colours of Red, Black, White for the club clothing (yet to be designed).
Therefore; I would like the logo to incorporate some or all of these colours.
Red, Black, White
One idea I had was to use a simple White Cross. as in the cross used on the swiss national team cycling jersey. (see attached photo).
I would love to somehow incorporate this white cross... or use it as a template for a designed logo.
Another idea I had was to incorporate my existing logo (see attachment) for Cross Athletic Consulting into the log of the triathlon club.
& or the C.A.C. logo incorporated into the White Cross idea.
These are just suggestions...
The main goal is to come away from this with a SHARP looking logo and accompanying Font with colours for the words in the club name: Vancouver Endurance Club.
The logo will be used in future on a website.
It will also be placed on clothing and most important is that it looks great on cycling clothing and triathlon clothing.
