Solo law firm. Primary focus is criminal defense but not limited to that. The target audience would be the public at large. I hope to incorporate a representative rendering of a local landmark, the Morris Island Lighthouse, in the design. While that is my first idea, It does not have to be included. Mostly, I want something clean, that catches attention without being too flashy. As far as color, I like all forms of blue. Please also refer to the color preferences. I like the use of reflection and shadow to catch attention and add an element of depth and class to a graphic.
In terms of ideas outside of some representation of the lighthouse, I'm interested in a neat juxtaposition of my initials TA. (Just posted a tipping the scales of justice idea in open forum of my contest. date 5/21/12) Part of the reason why I only chose the "word mark" and "pictorial mark" is because I don't want to constrain creativity. I'm not selling cars or sneakers, but if you can find the intersection between style, creativity, and a crisp professional look, do it!
I don't want you to be limited to the colors of the lighthouse or its exact image. I'm attaching a logo of another lawyer who used the state flag symbol of a palm tree and crescent loosely to create the design as an example of leeway. Artistic license is welcomed. Locally, the image is iconic and as long as you get the gist (or essence) of it, I'll be happy.
For any designs not incorporating the Lighthouse, get creative. If it looks good, you might sway me in a different direction. I represent a new generation of lawyers, savvy to the internet and rapid change. Go space age if you want, within reason, of course giving thought to the "values" and "color associations" listed above. Thanks to all in advance! I'm pumped to see how it comes together.
