We are a scientific research institute at a small university that does research on car design. In particular, we would like to understand how people process elements of a car front that resemble human facial characteristics. That is, we examine the effects that occur when people anthropomorphize a car front due to its given similarity to a human face where the lights are interpretated as eyes and the grille is interpretated as the mouth.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We need the car sketches as scientific stimulus material that we would like to use in a study where we ask participants several questions about the designs. In particular, we are interested in the best liked design configuration and the associations that are elicited by this design.
We need four variants of the attached picture of the Audi Sportsback concept car. If you take a look at the attached picture, you will (hopefully) recognize that the headlights (the "eyes") have an aggressive expression and the lower grille/air intakes ("the mouth") has a friendly expression (it looks like a smiling mouth). I hope that you can agree on these two impressions because they are the basis for successfully accomplishing our project.
Your task is to take the attached picture of the Audi Sportsback and to manipulate the headlights and the lower air intakes in four consecutive steps in a way that the impression of aggressiveness in the lights and friendliness in the grille is further increased. That is, we would like to have four variants of the existing picture that look more and more aggressive and friendly in the respective features.
It is up to you how to accomplish this task but in principle it might be possible to build just one very extreme car with respect to these two features and to use morphing technology to build the three cars in between. But this suggestion should just further clarify what we need and it's completely up to you how to achieve our requirements.
