We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to to protecting endangered forests and wildlife along the pacific slope of Central America. Our work is currently centered on the Paso del Istmo biological corridor in Southwestern Nicaragua. Our programs include reforestation, community-based eco-tourism, wildlife research and protection, and environmental education. We teach children that the animals in their backyards are globally important and that they must serve as the environmental leaders in their communities. Other efforts include the protection of coastal-marine environments. In 2007, we provided training and hired local residents as community rangers to protect nesting sea turtles. Already we have prevented hundreds of critically endangered Leatherback and Hawskbill turtle eggs from being poached. We have also planted over 200,000 trees at deforestation sites providing clean air, food, and habitat to wildlife. To learn more about what we do, please visit http://www.pasopacifico.org.
Despite all of the big things we have been able to accomplish, we are still very much a small organization. We are able to accomplish a lot with very little funds and we rely heavily on the support of our donors. This coffee will be sold online and at special events to raise funds to support our programs in Central America.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our supporters are generally people who have a strong love for the environment, and wildlife. We also have a lot of supporters who are from Central America and want to support their community. Consequently, we would like the label to be bright, earthy/granola/crunchy looking, and possibly Central American-inspired.
We need 2 labels (front and back). The dimensions will be 4 inches high by 2 ¾ inches wide. The front label will say:
" CORRIDOR COFFEE Connecting forests for wildlife"
"100% Arabica, Ground (or Whole Bean) Net Wt. 12 oz. (340g) Distributed by Paso Pacifico (our logo) PO Box 1244, Ventura, CA 93002
1-805-643-7044 http://www.pasopacifico.org "
The front should feature a colorful drawing of tropical forest wildlife. A spider monkey or Yellow Naped Amazon parrot would be ideal. There should be trees, forest, or corridor in the illustration as well. The back label will have an illustration of the biological corridor we are working to restore. A map of the biological corridor for you to work from can be found here: http://www.pasopacifico.org/paso_del_istmo.html
We have not finished writing up what our exact wording will be on the back. It should be something along these lines:
"While enjoying this flavorful coffee, you are directly contributing the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor and its wildlife corridors along the Pacific coast. etc. etc.

The important thing here is that the designer show us an example of the text, the map illustration, and the layout of the back label. We will provide the rest of the text once we have finalized our decisions on it.
