Bardom.com is a web based mobile application (a website) that should fit on any smartphone screen. It allows users to post 150 character messages in a chat-like room that represents a real bar. So you can chat with other people at your location through the Bardom application. Bardom also shows the activity level of each bar by ranking all the Bars in each city from most active to least. So now you can find the most active bar in your city RIGHT NOW!
Bardom.com
The Bardom.com website is active. It's functionality is very basic right now but we want it to look a little better than it does. You can log into the site at http://bardom.com from your desktop but its meant to be viewed on your mobile (iPhone, gPhone, Blackberry, etc.). You can go to New York or Key West as the city and test the functionality of the site. The rest of the cities do not have the Bars database yet.
Currently the site fits properly on most smart phones. We like the simple look of the site and I want to keep it clutter-free. The logo is there as well although we would entertain a better logo if the designer feels that's what it needs.
There is the home page listing all the cities, the city page listing all the bars for that city in order of most active, and Bar chat room is where you post messages for each bar (150 character limit) and then each member has a profile page - a simple profile for each person (we want to keep the profile page extremely limited as we want people to actually meet in person at the location). There is also a direct message function (you can send a direct message from the profile of someone by clicking on the letter symbol or by hitting the reply arrow on people's posts).
So as you see its all there but just needs to look better.
- Item 1...I want the web-based application to look cleaner, even shiny 3-D ish and be designed to fit the iPhone beautifully with all the basic functionality. Better Font, better placement of items....just look better but maintain the current functionality without clutter. Over 50% of mobile internet traffic is coming from the iPhone so this site should be designed to fit that screen perfectly from the iPhone browser.
- Item 1...I don't want to clutter up the clean look of the site. I don't want to go outside the limitations of the smartphones.
