I am starting requirement specs here as requirement field is too short.
We are looking to design just two pages for this web interface. First
one is login page. eg: http://pw02.linuxense.com/mettlecm/login.png It can
be plain but elegant.
Second page is the actual report page. It consists of 5 parts. I have
highlighted them with colored borders in a page which is empty at:
1. Red border: Header and menu.
2. Green: Paginator
3. Orange: Selectors
4. Blue: Table headers
Actual web page with tabular data filled in is at
Header and Menu: Currently all menu items are given in given in a single
line, we would like to have some sort of dropdown menu.
Paginator: Functionally current paginator is fine, needs to match with
overall design of the page.
Selectors: Selectors are drop down, text or date fields used to filter
data in the table. Different pages will have different set of selectors depending on the data in the page. Take a look at different pages to see how different number of selectors are used for different pages.
Table headers: One challenge of row headers is to accommodate large
number of columns in a single table, eg:
Tables: Usually the data is shown in simple tabular format, but the page
can have multiple tables as in
http://pw02.linuxense.com/mettlecm/overview.png or some rows can be
expanded to reveal details of a row as in
http://pw02.linuxense.com/mettlecm/…rt_aux.png (a green plus icon
indicates the row can be expanded and a red minus icon indicates the row
There are some popups in report pages allowing to enter data relevent to
a particular row, as shown in http://pw02.linuxense.com/mettlecm/popup.png Popup can have text box, radio buttons or drop down lists. The example shows two different types.
