Files.com is a pre-launch online file sharing site - so far we have a great name, and now a great logo (from a previous 99Designs contest), but we now need a great website design to go along with it.
We've launched other successful sites that have become hugely popular we're planning for the same here but we need your help making our brand "pop", stick in people's memory & make them want to give the service a try. We have less than 15 seconds to make an impression and the website needs to be clean, clear and simple so people instantly know what we do, how to use it and want to give it a try.
Up for the challenge?
Just about anyone who has run into the limitations of sending files via email. Mostly though our audience will be tech savvy individuals that regularly communicate via email and utilize it to transfer (large) files to clients, business partners, colleagues, friends & family.
The trick with this project is making it unique and interesting while keeping it simple and obvious to use. It needs to be relevant to file sharing so people stumbling across the page will instantly get it.
The page to be designed is the main front-page, and it includes a form for users to upload files and contact details to send the files/attachments to their contacts - (please see attached form.htm for elements required).
This form needs to be large & the main focus of the page and should take up the majority of the real estate.
The other elements required are:
- Sign Up/Sign In, My Account/Sign Out buttons.
- Links/menu to other main pages of the site: About, Help, Contact
This website needs to quickly instill trust and professionalism (would you trust you private files to a backyard operation?) while also having a soft consumer edge so people know it's going to be an easy process and don't get frightened off become giving it a go.
There are many common themes you can pull in with "file sharing" so please try and make something relevant (i.e. a user should be able to look just at the site and instantly know what the site is about).
Please use the colors included in the attached logo as the base colors, please feel free to use complementary highlight colors so it's not bland.
