We are a UK start-up company with lots of experience in building web apps for other people - now we are building our own application and we need a great design to help us do two things: first, describe our product to potential customers and secondly, to build the user interface that our customers will be using all day long.
Target audience are small-to-medium business owners and managers, who are involved in ecommerce, selling to consumers and businesses, and who may also use ebay to sell their products.
Our audience may range from web-literate but otherwise un-technical to software developers who want to integrate their software with our product.
Our web app is a back-end tool for businesses to do the day-to-day management of orders, shipping, controlling stock levels, running reports etc etc.
We have uploaded a branding pack that specifies our colour palette, logo design and font choices in fine detail.
You are much more likely to win if you have read that branding pack and you use it effectively. The palette is on the last page of the branding pack. We have uploaded our logo in a couple of different formats.
We need two page designs:
1) A Homepage design to introduce our product and brand to new customers.
2) An Application page design that we can use to create the features of our web app.
We use the Blueprint CSS framework and so would like a 950px wide layout on a grid.

Homepage Design Requirements:
The aim of the homepage is to describe the application quickly & efficiently and to drive users to sign-up for a free trial of the application.
The style should be modern, clean, fresh and user-friendly. The homepage should include:
Logo (provided) and tagline: “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”.
Photo / Drawing with three to five large bullet point text areas to describe the main features and benefits of our product.
Space for a video giving an introduction to the application.
“Sign-up for a free trial” button

Application Page Requirements
The application page design will be used to create all of the pages of the webapp that our customers will use all day long. Your design must include the following page elements. Dont worry about the HTML elements, we only expect you to deliver a PSD image of the page, but if you include these things on your page it will be more likely to win.
Headings H1, H2, H3, H4
Table with header & footer.
Pagination links.
Primary navigation (tabs) - “Home”, “Products”, “Stock”, “Settings”, “Etc”
Header with logged-in user / logout link / help link
Footer for common links such as contact us, help, blog, about us, sitemap etc etc.
Simple dialog box for “please confirm you want to delete” etc.
OL, UL, DL examples.
Form elements - with/without validation error messages and with/without fieldset grouping. The form elements should be reasonably standard - we aren't looking for big cutesy web2.0 style forms.
Buttons - three styles - for positive, negative and neutral actions. We currently style these as green, red and orange, respectively but would consider other ideas if they are logical and intuitive. There should also be an example of a pressed button.
Callout boxes for help and advisory text.
We are not looking for a clone of any of these sites, but we admire the usable and intuitive design that these sites have:
