Hello Designers, We are designing an "App recommendation ad format" The purpose of this ad format is to recommend to the user of Android / iPhone that they download a mobile app, because they enjoyed using another app in our network. For example, our ad might encourage the user to "Download Angry Birds Rio" because you enjoyed "Angry Birds" The purpose of the ad is to engage the user with something relevant, without being too intrusive. The ads will be rendered in HTML on iPhone and Android phones in China, and should work in english and in double-byte characters. A major challenge is that we have a very small space - On QVGA screens, ad needs to be legible at 320 pixels wide / 50 pixels high. We can render at higher resolution (640 x 100) on Retina display and some android phones. The ads need to display the following data: - App icon: Square image tile, roughly 40 x 40 px - Action icon: User clicks on this to interact with the ad. In this case, when you click on it, takes the user to to an app download page. - Name of the application, publisher name: In English / Chinese name auto-populated from Peter's crawl of the app store - Description text: 17 double-byte characters or 35 english characters. Something like: "Julu recommends <app name> because you liked <app name>" In Mandarin, that is "巨鹿向您推荐Angry Birds Rio, 只因我们知道您也喜欢Angry Birds" Some examples here below. Don't need to replicate the functionality here, these are just ideas we've had.

- Aspect ratio must be preserved - Should be able to be rendered in standard HTML on Android / iPhone - Ok to use wipe animation - for example, first show "<App name> by <Publisher name> and then wipe to show "#1 app of the year! Recommended because you liked <App name>" - Should be able to modify color palette without losing ad effect. For the design deliverables, the ideal way would be to get a HTML template file from the designer, with the CSS either embedded or in another file. The template should include sample content, for instant from the Angry Birds Rio or Yoo Ninja example.
