These patterns were used on a variety of babywear and childrenswear designs. The three designs all reflected different aspects of an Australian Summer experience. This design is inspired by camping trips and features cute details like the Webber BBQ, camper van, games, fireside marshmallows and hot chocolates and fishing. The design was created as a half-drop repeat so that the river element would have a beautiful flow across the fabric.")

The couple met as pen-pals studying French so this story is captured in the design of invitations with the postal box, postage stamps and postmarks with lots of little subtle details nodding to parts of their story used throughout.")

I also included a pair of marrons in honour of Shaun’s fishing family background. The design of the invitation was also given a black tie aesthetic in honour of Lauren’s work in the fashion industry.")

The wedding styling featured white, cream and yellow florals which were rendered in watercolour to use as a border for the DL menu design. For the wedding I also created a set of handpainted and cut flower placecards with raw cotton tags for the calligrapher to write the guests names onto.")

Gumnut Kids was the solution as it related to the beautiful bushland environment where she is located. A simple and organic design of gum nuts was created for this new brand.")

Dalia wanted a soft watercolour finish so I also created a seperate layer to the design of a watercolour texture that sits behind the vector image. This layered image is perfect to use for business cards, web and marketing. The pure vector lego meanwhile can be used for larger signage pieces or when embossing.")

The business card was designed and printed with gold foil details to add a lux finish that reflected the high end weddings and events she designs for. The organic shape and flow of the ivy leaves is a direct reflection of her business name but also about her flamboyant and organic approach to creating floral installations.")

The illustrations needed to be botanically accurate and clear and delivered in a format that the client could easily use the designs in the guides that they put together themselves each week.")

I used the corporate colours in the design of the mixing bowl and whisk and added in the product imagery of the lemon to further illustrate the particular mix. There was also a chocolate mix created.")

The initial stage was to design the logo and this is the second stage which was to roll out the branding across their communications design. As mechanical plumbers they are working with larger corporate firms and wanted a professionally designed brochure that explained their business proposition.")

I am a Sydney based graphic designer and illustrator and mother of 2. I graduated from UNSW with a 1st class honours degree in Design in 2006 and worked full-time in commercial design studios until 2014 when I left to establish a family. Now as a mother of 2 I am a dedicated freelance designer and illustrator. I built my own freelance business - ELK Prints Design & Illustration Studio with a focus on working in the events industry designing wedding invitations.
