Because of my other work as a director and animator, I think in terms of movement and evolution. Designs should be a versatile as possible. For me this means calculating possible animation of the designs (from logo reveals to even character animation). This means that, when I make a design, It's easy to animate it. (e.g. logo reveal, etcetera)
